The Swedish textile empire of H&M which also incorporates other chain-stores like COS, Weekday and Monki is taking over the (fashion) world it seems these days. After the announcement this week that the most well-known Swedish fashion blogger Elin Kling designs a collection for H&M, today Monki TV was launched on www.monki.com, moderated by Susie Lau aka Susie Bubble, who is one of the most famous fashion bloggers with her blog Style bubble.
The first episode was shown today, not only on Monki's website, but also on Vimeo and Youtube. Every Monday there will be a new episode. Every month there's a new blogger or creative person going to moderate it and be introduced by it - and will introduce us to her (it's just going to be girls, as Monki is just for girls as well) work vice versa.
In this episode Susie is taking us on an almost six minutes long trip through the fashion universe. You see her at the press days in London, at the Lanvin for H&M fashion show at The Pierre in New York and in Scottland finding out how one specific tweed is produced.
I think the most interesting part starts at 5:15 when she visits jewellery designer Jordan Askill. His work is truly amazing - I was lucky to take a look at his pieces myself when I visited London Fashion Week last September. It's sculptural, wearable art!
I can't wait to see who the next person is presenting Monki TV. For those who want more creative input by the fashion house, should check out the Monki magazine...
